At Cronin Solar we recently completed a solar PV installation at a local primary school in West Cork, designed to reduce energy costs, promote sustainability, and support environmental education. The project involved the installation of a high-performance system featuring:
🔋 44 x 440W Solar Panels
⚡ 10kW 3-Phase Hybrid Inverter
This robust setup allows the school to generate significant on-site renewable energy, reduce its reliance on the national grid, and move toward a more energy-efficient and cost-effective future.
Why Solar Power Makes Sense for Schools
Installing solar panels on educational and community buildings provides a wide range of benefits:
✅ Reduced Energy Bills
Solar helps schools cut daytime electricity usage and lower monthly bills, freeing up resources for other educational needs.
✅ Lower Carbon Footprint
By generating clean energy on-site, the school significantly reduces its greenhouse gas emissions and sets an example for environmental stewardship.
✅ Energy Independence & Battery Readiness
The hybrid inverter installed allows for future battery storage integration, giving the school greater control over its energy use and protection against energy price fluctuations.
✅ Educational Opportunities
This installation turns the school into a real-world learning environment, giving students insights into renewable energy, sustainability, and climate action.
